The arrival of a new member of the family is an exciting and special time of joy and an opportunity to share the pride and delight with the community. A naming celebration Celebrant can help you enjoy every moment of this wonderful event.

An alternative to a Christening or baptism, a naming or blessing ceremony brings together the traditional elements of welcoming a child to the world with a modern twist. It will integrate a family’s own traditions and including personal symbols in the celebration.

A special ceremony is crafted for every family, uniquely written to express the love and excitemen. We will celebrate a new baby, rejoice about an adoption or recognise a new identity.

Families may choose to have supporting or guiding adults who will promise to take a special interest in the child’s future, to be there as a friend and a supporter.

Vicky can help supporters to write their own promises to the child so that they are unique and meaningful.

As with unity ceremonies, there are lots of symbolic elements that can be personalised and included within the ceremony to make the occasion even more special.

Using candles and light
During a naming Celebration celebrant service, candles can be lit to signify positivity and hope to guide and protect a child through their life.

Nature
A tree or plant can be presented and potted by the family to symbolise growth and strength.

A memory book
Guests will sign a memory book writing their blessing for the child. This is a lovely memento that they can look back on through their lives.

Papercrafts
All guests place ink on their thumbs and leave a thumbprint on a pre-printed outline of a tree, or within a heart. They can sign their thumbprint to symbolise their support for the child and the family.
