What a joy to be part of a very special celebration and to be part of a first class supplier team at Emily and Kayla’s wedding yesterday at Llantilio House.

This wedding was next level in terms of thoughtfulness and taste, every element considered and it hit the mark in every way.

One of E&K’s friends told me that they have this way of adopting people into their lives and I feel that too, spending the time with them and then the people they love was a bubble I didn’t want to leave. It’s been an honour and thank you both for making me feel so welcome and for looking after me so well ❤️

Answering the most popular questions I get asked. This time : “what made you want to become a Celebrant?”

The short answer is that following the funeral service of a much loved aunt I was curious if there was another way of honouring a life well lived?

I did some research and I learned all about the choice that families could have, to hear the stories about life and love with words written especially and only for their loved one.

I sat with the concept for a while and the more time went on, the more sense it made. That was 5+ years ago now.

I am always happy to answer questions and give sign posts for any topic to do with my work. Reach out!

    R E C A P : Already the end of another month and w R E C A P :
Already the end of another month and we’re officially into the exciting part of the year now. Being on the precipice of traditional wedding ‘season’ and coming out of a rather weighty winter where farewell services require lots of energy is a funny old place emotionally - it feels exciting and fizzy and also a bit ploddy.

The spring equinox a couple of weeks ago is truly the beginning of a new phase in nature, so it was perfect timing to have a bit of a sparkle and polish of the business mechanisms behind the celebrancy. So this month I went away on my annual continuing professional development event with @independent_celebrant_retreats

A few days in Devon with 26 other Celebrants. At the start of the sessions, we were asked to choose an intention, what we hoped to achieve. The word that I selected was ‘absorb’.

It turned out that I not only absorbed energy and joy, I actually felt infused with a new found positivity and that has fuelled me through this month that flew by.

There was a low too, a negative experience which caught me off guard with the strength of feeling I had, it began as feeling spiky and cross, but resolved in a desire to increase my standards, so ended up being really positive ✅

I saw one of my favourite bands in Bristol (@geneofficialband were sensational), Mother’s day was lush too. I started some socials work for my husbands new band, and we celebrated a big birthday for him 😊

Behind the scenes (of course, it always looks like these pictures 😂) preparations with my lovely couples for their wedding ceremonies has been going well, and day to day I’ve been helping families to arrange their farewell celebrations with traditional funerals and very personal and enjoyable memorials in a pub and hotel.

So that’s March. The light is back, let’s all shine bright.

It was a such a special day, one of those moments where love flowed in every current and vector and I knew that if we fast-forwarded a few decades, this lovely couple would be still loved up in one another’s arms. Totally lush.

Here’s an excerpt of their review:

“We’d been to two weddings officiated by Vicky prior to getting married and seeing how different they were to each other; how personal each wedding was to the Bride and Groom and how beautiful the energy that she brought into the rooms was what made us first consider a celebrant led Wedding Ceremony…

Our day was everything we wanted it to be. Vicky did more than just officiating our ceremony; she helped the groomsmen with their button holes, she handed our son a tissue and comforted him when he became emotional, she let our daughter help her set up, she mingled with friends and family, putting faces to names she’d heard so much about… she also did a nice job of reassuring the Groom when he got a bit nervous!”

Check out the google reviews in bio to read more.”

I was thrilled to be invited to talk about Celebrant wedding ceremonies - and overjoyed to experience THREE ceremony spaces - outdoors and indoors to allow couples great choice to suit their vibe.

The venue was beautifully decorated and featured exhibitions from some of the loveliest supplier pals who were sharing their experience in catering, entertainment, photography and content creation, stationery, floral installations, gowns and suits, childcare and photo booths. There is plentiful accommodation at the farm, everything is finished to a very high standard.

I couldn’t wait to share a few of the very lovely photos that Danielle took in her new purpose made studio, based in Port Talbot. BE THAT WOMAN A poem by the legend @donnaashworth BE THAT WOMAN

A poem by the legend @donnaashworthwords to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026

To all the women, especially the women in my phone, in this bonkers industry where compassion and nurturing is vital but softness is seen as a weakness, here’s my rally for us all:

“Be the kind of woman you want to call when things go wrong.

Be the motivator, the encourager of dreams.

Be the kind of fierce friend you want to have yourself.

Love your girlfriends deeply, they are your sister warriors in this world and only they know just what a crazy, hormonal ride womanhood really is.

Be loyal, love hard.

Be a soulmate, be a sister.

Be strong, be kind.

Listen hard and laugh lots.

Tell the truth but keep the secrets.

Big up everyone you meet.

Kind words travel endlessly.

If you can’t say anything nice, look more closely.

Spread the sparkle of a smile and a compliment whenever you can.

There is room for us all to be happy and successful.

Lend a hand if you’re there already.

Pull your girls up.

Push them if you need to.

Straighten each other’s crowns, spot the lipstick on the teeth and the loo paper on the shoes.

Avoid the drama, smile at the haters, they’re actually admiring you from afar.”

Wedding industry professionals are all hearing the same thing - couples want to curate EMOTION on their special day.

@bridebookhq released a report forecasting 2026 trends and it was refreshing to read that it really wasn’t about *things* it was about *feelings*

I smiled massively reading this. This comes as part of the package with Hwyl Ceremonies, infact, it’s the first thing you get when I am the celebrant who shares your story.

I like to think I’m holding hearts and igniting neurons with my work, it’s not the same as it was but that is only a good thing ❤️❤️
