Time is one of our most precious commodities. It is always on our mind, even technology nags us about it – screen time, the optimum amount of time you need to sleep, timed runs… need I go on?
I am incredibly conscious of time. As a planner, time management skills are a part of my trade – I can schedule, plan and forecast with the best of them – if it was just me in the schedule, absolutely no problem, it would run like clockwork. But, add in other people and the plan is as useful as a chocolate fireguard. We have absolutely no control over other people’s behaviour and those people have no control over others etc etc.
And this is why I am passionately on your side when it comes to time management on your special day. When I am with you at your celebrant-led wedding or union, you can take as much time as you like, you are not going to be pressured to be walking down the aisle at a time on the dot, as I only conduct one ceremony each day.
Often registrars or ministers will have multiple events that they need to get to but you will have the luxury of working with an independent celebrant who manages their own diary. If we need to delay the outdoor ceremony to allow a rain shower to pass over or to relocate the aisle to get some shade, it is no problem.
The same goes for any hair or make up disasters, and or there’s another espresso and a couple of paracetamol needed, or (heavens forbid) a flower girl Fruit Shoot mishap, you can be calm and safe in the knowledge that there is enough time to sort it out because I am not going anywhere.
I also see my couples and families stressed and worried about having enough time to get those special pre-ceremony pictures, videos and Tik Toks done. If your guests are hanging on for a little bit longer while you and your entourage live out your bibitibobitiboo dreams, then that’s all good with me!
I appreciate that your will have invested a huge amount of time (and let’s face it, hard earned money) into this special day and you’ll want it to last as long as possible. I might not be able to stop time but I can help you get the best out of it.
Lots of wedding co-ordinators and suppliers love working with me as a Celebrant because I am used to being flexible – if you have an exclusive venue you’ll want to spend the whole day with your guests, not be bound by when an official can arrive to conduct your ceremony – we can get you married as early, or as late as you like. And if you need someone to orchestrate the key timings of the day, I can help you out as a Matron of Ceremonies (I wish I could get a handle on time myself to reclaim Maid status!) to get everyone in the right place at the right time and crucially, to make sure that you are enjoying yourselves in your newly marriage bubble of bliss – I’ll be there to hand you a glass of something cold and fizzy and let your guests know the plans.
With celebrant-led events, things are changing, you can be in control of what happens and when rather than being told what is and what isn’t possible. This is a modern way of hosting special life events. It’s about time!
